Hi guys,

I am in the process of planning new sets for 2015. I feel that there's still a lot of armies and formations that didn't receive the attention they deserve so I am keen to get your feedback on what I should tackle next.
I have this list and was wondering what you'd like to see next year.

- Badeners for the Peninsular
- Westfalen for Russia
- Wahab Arabs (to fight everyone in the middle east)
- Battle for Tripoli (Swedish and American Marines, Arabs, Turks and and and)
- Hanseatics for the Befreiungskriege.

Thank you for your opinions and suggestions!

Looks interesting. Hopefully this will be after the Saxons are all done.

KaweWeissiZadeh22 Dec 2014 7:06 a.m. PST

The Saxons are done by Paul Hicks and that's all he does for me until they're done. I'll be doing the new ranges with Alan Marsh who's style I really like.

Kawe, look forward to Paul Hicks completion of the Saxons. Interesting list for 2015. I like the work I've see from Alan Marsh and like his style, too. From the list provided, the Westfalen and Tripoli options are the most intriguing to me. Thanks for asking. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Kawe!

Thank you Mark. Paul is working on at least 1000000 ranges at the same time but he does make progress! The Saxon light infantry is shaping up nicely.

Westphalie and Tripoli indeed are hot candidates. Tripoli in particular offers everything a wargamer could possibly desire incl. boarding actions and and and.

Anyway – Happy Christmas and a happy new year to you and yours! :--)

I'd vote for the Badeners and/or the Hanseatics.

Footslogger22 Dec 2014 10:01 a.m. PST

Now that you're doing Tsar Alexander to go in your open-topped carriage, would you consider doing the other coalition monarchs?

In the rules I use, each army has to have a compulsory baggage element, and I'd like to have the three monarchs together as the "baggage" rather than as the command element.

KaweWeissiZadeh22 Dec 2014 10:05 a.m. PST

I really like the Hanseatics quite a bit. What frightens me about the otherwise lovely Badeners is the endless discussions pro and con Tshako vs. helmet.

Footslogger – you mean the Koenig and the Kaiser? I'll keep doing small sets like British staff and Marshall's for the coaches. Your suggestion might come in handy.

axabrax22 Dec 2014 10:07 a.m. PST

Sorry--what figure range will these be for?

KaweWeissiZadeh22 Dec 2014 10:19 a.m. PST

Sorry Axabrax, I should've mentioned that this is for Westfalia miniatures.

Massena and his mistress?!

WeeWars22 Dec 2014 10:43 a.m. PST

Wahab Arabs, please!

Footslogger22 Dec 2014 12:12 p.m. PST

Yes, Koenig and Kaiser, please.

KaweWeissiZadeh22 Dec 2014 12:20 p.m. PST

Massena and mistress and various German Monarchs it seems.

And yes, Wahabis would make great enemies for dem Persians.

I am very keen for Saxon Cavalry (on proper sized horses!) but as you have indicated Paul Hicks will complete that project. Westfalen for Russia would for me be a must have (but no ponies please!). Then Badeners. Then – oh you know what just do them all!

Just a thought from someone who knows nothing about sculpting, but could you deal with the Shako/helmet conundrum with extra heads?

KaweWeissiZadeh22 Dec 2014 3:42 p.m. PST

Tmbte: extra heads are a possibility, just I sometimes think that it doesn't really look quite as good as the classic approach.

True

Well, here go some ideas I have found no way to paint with the current ranges from "you know who":

1) Italian Line Horse Artillery.
2) Italian Guard Horse Artillery
3) Italian Guards of Honour
4) Italian Line Chasseurs a Cheval
5) It may seem odd, but: French Legere Infantry for the Middle Imperial period (The Perry´s Middle Imperial period very limited range covers just Line infantry).
6) French Marines (for the 1813 campaign)
7) Some of those lovely foot or horse Landwehr and Freiwiligers with unusual uniforms (Prussian and other German states) for 1813-15.

I totally concur. I'm to the point where I'm thinking about organizing a KickStarter campaign around getting Paul Hicks to do some. Then give the casting rights to someone who knows what they're doing, like KWZ or Brigade Games.

Of course, I have no idea how to make that happen. I guess I have something to think about over the holiday break.

Characters….but you do not make your fortune with even the best Austrian Emperor, or German Koenig or Russian Tsar. Folk do not create columns of Monarchs…so much work for individual sales.

I've just finished Tsar Alexander, in his carriage, from Westfalia, but still have his escort to do. Marvellous casting he is. Other monarchs as alternatives for the various vehicles Westfalia are producing…….needed.

My dream is Orson Welles climbing into the coach that NR showed here recently. My next project, once that is released. Much Greenstuff but I think I have a figure to work on!

Of course the ultimate ignored army is Louis XVIII's from Restoration I and II. Only I would consider buying them I fear……..

KaweWeissiZadeh24 Dec 2014 3:23 a.m. PST

Love that coach! Can't wait to see the finished vignette.

Re 'middle' period: I couldn't agree more. I think the issue is neither the interest nor the money but the availability of the really good sculptors.

French Marines and especially Mariniers are on my list btw. They'd be part of the Hanseatics since the Elb-flotilla was having really nice units.

MSU John27 Dec 2014 4:19 p.m. PST

Badeners!

KaweWeissiZadeh28 Dec 2014 11:25 a.m. PST

Actually – Badeners will come, as well as some Hanseaten vs. (French)Elbflotilla and most of all skirmish sets for the many battles and actions around Tripoli.

Might well be that we Kickstarter some off them.

PTCohn28 Dec 2014 1:52 p.m. PST

I definitely would like to see Baden troops (in helmet). Also, some more male and female civilians (European). Skirmish troops for actions around Tripoli sound interesting.

Supercilius Maximus29 Dec 2014 7:36 a.m. PST

A second vote for Italians – probably the least well covered of the 2nd rank European nations of the Napoleonic era. The infantry seem to be not quite either pre- or post-Bardin.
