We played a festive Christmas game of Rapid Fire on Sunday, using the Stalingrad forces I have been building and based on the defence of Pavlov's House. I have published the AAR on my blog, please have a look here:

Thanks for looking!

Great game Alex! And the set up looks wonderful. I think your result was really true to life, with all the casualties and the ebb and flow of the battle. Did your boys have the NKVD behind them to keep them motivated? evil grin

Thanks TJ, it was a really enjoyable game to play, it was nail bitingly tense at times. Yep, I had my girlfriend stand behind me with a broom-handle to keep the front line stable!

Nice, thanks, I really like the scale of the buildings to the tanks etc, it gives a lot of game for a 4 x 4.

Cheers Normsmith, urban fighting is good on a small board, it makes it very intense!

Nice game. I can see what you meant about your Workers Militia unit.
Was your girlfriend wearing an appropriate hat?

Abwehrschlacht22 Dec 2014 9:28 a.m. PST

Thanks rrobby. It wasn't a great start for the militia at all. she has several inappropriate hats…

What do the red markers and card markers in the ruins denote ?
Ta

(psst, it tells you on the blog post…) The cards are the hidden movement markers, half of them were dummies, the other represented units. The little red markers are the objective markers. Hammer and Sickles, I made them years ago.

Big fan of Rapid Fire, run a game using it at each of our two annual cons (RECON and HURRICON) so especially enjoyed this one. And whats not to like? Terrific set up and terrain, tense, down to the wire game, well written and amply illustrated. Well done sir, well done!

Thank you Marc33594, kind words indeed. It was a tense game throughout and it could have gone anyway, but I'm glad it went the way it did!

Thanks Tango 2 3 Ditto, as I mentioned, these are only about two thirds of the full lot I need for the lists, so the full scenario will be a big game!

Merry Christmas to you as well!
