Buddy of mine went in for the KS on this and just got the game last week. He invited me to the FLGS for a game and we ran through our first play. We are both Dreadball vets and the core of DBX matches fairly closely – with some cool new changes. In addition to special move cards (similar to DB's card deck) you now have sabotage cards. Nobody gets put in the infirmary/sin-bin for injury; instead you lie in a crumple until you either bleed out or recover totally. There are no refs and therefore no fouls exist/can be called. Oh, and the playing field is littered with explosive crates that will go off if you move next to them. My buddy mopped the floor with me while I made an unintended go of clearing all the explosive crates with my players. Lots of random stuff going on with all the cards, extra chances for coaching dice. Plan on your plans changing. If you get a chance to play, I highly recommend checking it out – esp. if you are considering buying a copy. |

Sounds good. I just got the basic set with the bare human and orc teams. Looking forward to assembling and painting them and getting a game going. DBX sounds like fun. |
