The latest edition of Infinity has launched and Corvus Belli has made the rules part of the new book(s) available for free on the new website: infinitythegame.com

I've been playing since 2010 and I still think it's the best skirmish game around. The new rules have been updated to be more intuitive, with less exceptions and has made the game a lot more approachable.

Thank you.

Thanks for the heads up.

This game, along with Dark Age, are the two that hold my interest for skirmish news.

Yay! I thought it would be a while longer since they were just releasing the hard copy. Good to know I can get it now. Thanks!

Just bear in mind NOT all the profiles have been updated to 3rd ed.

The file doesn't even have ALL the N2 book profiles (some have been removed and replaced with newer ones – other (primarily sectorial units) have been shifted to those lists which should come out sometime before the heat death of the universe.

For reasons that have not been shared with the Fanatic Peat(tm), Corvus Belli has decided to keep the Human Sphere and Campaign Paradiso books valid rules-wise. So units that appeared in either of those books do not show up in the N3 core rules.

I have a statement from earlier this morning( link ), that CB is still laying out and proofreading the update PDFs. I'm assuming that they will be released about the same time as the new online army builder (which will no longer be a Flash-based system, good news for Apple users) at the absolute latest.

It has not been said if CB will release the PDFs before Army 5 is. While I hope they do and have articulated a reason why on their forums, apparently the same person is working on both the PDFs and the code for Army 5.

I'm speculating here, but I suspect that the code for Army 5 is at a point where it needs the updated statlines from the PDFs before they can really do much more with it. Because it doesn't really make sense for the same person to be working on both otherwise.

Thanks! Are the books available yet?

Not at Corvus Belli at least. They did show stacks of 'em earlier this week (or was it last week already, I forget), presumably at their HQ warehouse, so I would assume they've been shipped to retailers. The shop I place a preorder with estimates they'll be able to send the books to me today.

The hardcopies were available as of last week.

They're certainly making their way to stores. Anyone who pre-ordered their copy should have had their copy sent to them already. I'm not sure where things stand for regular retail, as I'm unemployed-broke and won't be getting a hardcopy anytime soon.
