Models are around 6 inches long. Wish they were smaller. |

The Yen so weak against the dollar? Then why are Gundam models so much more expensive. Couldn't it be that these are just no the popular ships? Had a chance to pick up a model of Harlock's Arcadia, but it was expensive. Being Harlock it's understandable why. |

The Yen may be weak but they've also upped the prices to compensate on most stuff I've looked at lately. You can still get good deals at their sales but with regular priced stuff, not so much as you'd think from all the "weak Yen" drumming. |

Um, are we looking at the same prices? Seriously, the Yamato kits both the original series and the current Yamato 2199 kits are priced quite reasonably by anyone's definition. Frankly, the mini kits are cheaper than they were in the 1980s at $1.54 USD for the original series and $2.73 USD per Yamato 2199 Mecha Colle mini kit is just plain nuts. I paid $4.00 USD per kit back in the 1980s at the local hobby shop here in Northern CA, so really, a set of four models for $25.96 USD that consists of a Battlecruiser, a hyperspace submarine, and two space fighters suitable for either large scale space fighter combat or as ground support assets for 15mm ground combat (or 28mm drones) is a good deal by anyone's definition. Fair's fair, Leland; they were talking about other kits, in the main. I will say I had a 'there he goes again' moment, until I looked that the linked kits. Having seen them in a local store, they ARE mind-numbing cheep in comparison. Given how dear they were before, imported, reasonable makes shouting reasonable. ;->= …but they've also upped the prices to compensate on most stuff I've looked at lately… Does that mean kit buyers in Japan are screaming? They've always seemed long suffering, but… Doug |

As usual, the Yen is almost at par with the Canadian dollar. |

Doug, You know I'm incorrigible, and yes, when I start raising Hell about something, I'm usually right (just ask me!). Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net

JN, alas for the Canadian dollar and Canadians! Wish you too could share in the our good fortune of having our Southern Barbarian dollar being worth more than the yen by a wider margin than usual… Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net |
