so we have been playing a lot of Lion Rampant as of late, and I've struck on an idea. I like smaller scales, so i was thinking of putting a couple 10mm figures on a 25mm base and counting it as a figure in the rules in all respects.

i think it would look good, what do you guys think? My question though is that I think that if we go on a 1:1 scale for figures to men, you are looking at about 10-15 knights per unit, and about 30-40 infantrymen per unit. I'm thinking that this is about the right amount of men for a raid or skirmish historically? between 100-200 men total?

Been thinking the same, but 6mm, look foward to hearing what folks say.

I would just use the bases Lion Rampant has, put more minis on them, scale the distances, but keep everything else the same.

Some of the great raids by the British in the Hundreds Year was were made by 2000-3000 men

I think it would look pretty good by putting multiple miniatures on 1 base and calling that a single figure. Maybe 4 10mm figures on a 2CM base. Giving it a nice and crowded look.

Joker: this is exactly what I was planning. the FLGS had 25x25 but potaytoe potato… I think it would look good.

KTravlos: thanks for the info, I was thinking that about 100-200 men would be right for a small action. i don't see why I would need to scale the ranges though?

Jozis: do it. 6mm would look even better!

Does Lion Rampant use inches or cms? I cannot remember right now. I find that when I do this thing going to CMs makes more sense to me.

Indeed! With 25mm, you might get another figure per rank on the base. So 5-6 figures per base to give it an irregular look.

It uses inches, i suppose when i get the figures painted ill try it both ways and see what works.

I kinda want to try to make them look like "blobs" of men, but be able to use a movement tray.
