OK, today, I received my delayed pre ordered copy of the New Die Fighting II rules. The packaging had been attacked by the UK mail system, the envelope was in four pieces, the letter from the games author / designer was confetti. But the rules were undamaged, because they shipped on a dvd and what a set they are! I am already very impressed, and whilst I will tinker with them very slightly, I am looking forward to getting a game with them in the next few weeks. They are very different, but I can see the coming of a new era in rules, and this product is blazing a very bright trail. |

So how do you use the DVD? Play it as a video? Print from a .pdf? Transfer the content to a tablet etc.? |

ok, the video part is the rules. There is a slideshow of rules frames for a tablet – to act as an aide memoir when you are playing the rules. (you probably will never refer to this after your second game, first if you are a quick learner) There are parts such as the fast play sheets and rosters you need to print. (each sub period has a fast play sheet, and there are nationality considerations, so a full page fast play sheet with a unit roster on the reverse is probably the only paperwork you will look at in subsequent games.) |

DVDs? They went long ago, as did the video tapes. |
