Any suggestions on which models might be useable? Thanks!

I'd use French Light infantry, NOT in greatcoats, from the 1815 range, if you can find them. They have the pointed cuffs, which are a Young Guard distinction prior to 1815.

Does Victrix have Young Guard?

Fonzie15 Dec 2014 6:55 p.m. PST

These took a bit of work and are not 100% correct but I don't mind that for my own collection. It's hard enough to get figures living in the Philippines so I have to make due with what I can get.

Fonzie

I love to see conversion work like this. Really well done and imaginative. What became of all those Perry hussars, luckily with spare heads?

Fonzie16 Dec 2014 5:09 a.m. PST

Thank you. Those were indeed spare hussar heads so no hussars were harmed. :-)

Not a fan of Plastics but I must commend you on the spectacular work you did on this . Very nice indeed.

Does Victrix have Young Guard?

Having trawled through their product listing sometime ago, I could only find Old and Middle Guard, but no Young Guard.

Any chance the next time we post something, we can make sure we don't cross-post into boards that aren't about the topic?

This one is crossed into the Napoleonic Naval Board.

Thanks

PS Those ARE nice conversions!

They must be Les Marins from the Jeune Garde….surely you have heard of them…..surely….

Markconz16 Dec 2014 12:14 p.m. PST

Thanks for feedback everyone. Great conversions Fonzie! Though I'm after about 200 of them so not really feasible for me…

Later battles need tonnes of Young Guard, hopefully one of the plastic manufacturers will make some. Victrix Warlord etc?

And yes sorry SgtPrylo, accidental cross posting, and annoyingly there's no way to edit such mistakes on this site that I could see.

If you dispense with the plumes and cords, you don't need to convert, right? Again, French Light Infantry from the 1815 campaign should have the pointed cuffs.

It Is sad they do not early French infantry nor cavalry greetings serge joe

Yes please don't cross post as it makes those with nothing valuable to contribute very very grumpy….. :-)
