I have painted a unit of Highlandser in overalls that are very nice models. The flag bearers (?) are crouching and look totally out of place. I tried to contact the manufacturer but have had no response. The figures look foolish. What have other people done to address the pose imbalance?

Look at HC-01 or HC-02 as compared to HC-11on the link

I would say it seems to be an advancing pose. You can see the image distinctly on the Welcome page of the web site in color.

It is an advancing pose. I have them and have no problem with them at all.

Old Contemptibles15 Dec 2014 12:42 p.m. PST

Looks good to me. I have some flag bearers in a similar pose and I too have no problem with them.

Cammy Jammy15 Dec 2014 1:52 p.m. PST

The figures are bent over at about 30 degrees. The others are standing. I will send some photos of the unit – the figures do work well for their charging figures, but look odd with the marching pose.

Based on the pictures in the link, I don't see anything wrong.

Mr Cammy is a new memeber having joined just as I posted about the miscast Perry AWI figures.
You can read his posts here:

It's odd, but I didn't get any email from him concerning this issue. Nor did I sell him any figures as far as I know. But I do not know his real name so it is possible he got them from me. It is also possible that he bought them at a Con or from Steve at Age of Glory.

Draw your own conclusions.

One of the standard bearers is standing; the other is charging. Therefore you can buy two identical standard bearers to use with the firing line and charging figures and they are perfect. That leaves the marching pose figures, for which I'd suggest using the "standing" standard bearer, ie HC-01. Two of those in the second row will look fine.

I've painted several dozen of these little beauties and they are lovely figures.

Bill, on another subject any chance we will be seeing some new figures from you anytime soon? I for one am very pleased with what I have gotten of your range and do look forward to more if more is on the way.

nevinsrip16 Dec 2014 12:20 p.m. PST

Disco Yes. After the New Year I'll be up and running. I should have examples of the Continentals and Dragoons up by then.

Cammy Jammy16 Dec 2014 12:49 p.m. PST

I don't want anyone to think there iS anything wrong with the figures. They are beautiful. I will order more in the future and be happy with them.

Bill I bought my first figures at a Historicon. I then ordered some more from you as well as heads. (2013) If you recall it was when there was a "head" box for each highlander and we had some email correspondence to clarify the issue.

I sent a note from your website last week asking about new releases, contact for Paul Hicks and a question regarding flag bearers.

Remember now?

As to timing of joining are you all this friendly?

Disco Joe16 Dec 2014 1:19 p.m. PST

Bill, fantastic. I can't wait.

Cammy Jammy16 Dec 2014 6:18 p.m. PST

Here are some photos. Not flocked, but otherwise ready. Both flag bearers are shown. Aesthetically they do not look right.

Here are the flagbearers head on.

Cammy I did not get your note. Please resend it.
Are you using:

KINGSMTMINIS@AOL.COM

On the other point.

I would not give out any information on any of my customers.
PERIOD.

What I can do for you, is pass along your request to Paul and allow him the choice to contact you or not.
Fair enough?

I would need your real name and email to do so.

nevinsrip16 Dec 2014 9:27 p.m. PST

CAMMY Nicely done!!!
As Giles suggests use 2 of the "upright" Flag bearers.
Save the charging guy for a charging diorama.

If you want, I'll send you a second FB for free…Bill

Cammy: very nice painting. I think two of the "standing"/upright bearers will look very good in this unit. The side-on photo shows that they do look as if they are walking anyway.

Thanks for the comments – the figs are fun to paint. The faces are quite expressive.

Bill I filled in the form on your site. Will respond to the aol address. I don't need free figures (Or so my wife tells me) and I wall order some charging figures to build a new unit.

nevinsrip17 Dec 2014 9:43 p.m. PST

Remind me when you order and I'll get you another standing flagbearer as a "welcome to TMP" gift.

I prefer satisfied customers.

You can also buy a Psrry command pack and embed them into the KMM unit. The two ranges are meant to be compatible. I did this with my KMM firing line Highlanders.
