I browsed for something completely different and came upon the plastic Wizkids MechWarrior tanks and other vehicles. Can they be used with 15 mm SF figures? Too big, too small or just right? |

The tanks are mostly too small unfortunately. There are a couple that could work. Notably the SM1 tank destroyer whose bubble canopies are big enough to suggest they could fit a 15mm pilot Many of the Largest Mech's could work and even some of the medium ones, if you imagine the pilot sitting in the chest area. The infantry are too small with the exception of a couple of the largest battle armor figs. Have you already gotten into 15mm? If not, the MW range is big enough that affordable 10mm gaming is entirely possible. I started buying MW with the intention of going to 15mm, but when I realized the size I just went 10mm entirely. I've not got an entire army of rebased mechwarrior figs in the stock paint jobs. |

I have a box full of GZG and RAFM 15mm .Every now and then,I pulled them out and start making plans.I really like those minis and would like to use them in a Space Opera context, some kind of my version of Star Wars. Thanx for the suggestions. |

The Tanks are too small but some of the mechs work quite well. |

IIRC the MechWarrior stuff is about 10mm. Scale is not consistent across the line. I use a few as 6mm vehicles and aircraft. |

It nominally 1/144 or 12mm. I have loads if anyone is interested |

Larger tanks like the Behemoth, SM1 Destroyer and Marksman M1 might work. The Joust, Kinnol, most VTOLs are a tad too small (the twin rotor VTOL I see lots of in 15mm armies) and then there is the under sized models. Kelswa, Long Tom Artillery, and others could best be used as drones |

As for VTOL's, some are even too small for 10mm, but alot of folks don't mind some down-sizing for their aircraft, so there are quite a number that could work in that case. If you're looking for good aircraft that are good for 15 or 10mm, I'd check out the matchbox skybusters line. There's some great copters and a few sci-fi looking jets. |

The medic/ambulance vehicle works as a 15mm truck and the mobile command center could work as a engineering vehicle/mars rover sort of thing. Lots of the parts make good 15mm conversion fodder. |

I second that the heavy battlesuit infantry (those mounted mounted one to a base) work well. IMO, the Marksman is too long and low to look like 1:100. Some of the bigger, chunkier ones like the Behemoth, Sniper SPG, and the Condor GEV/gravwhatever might work. I really like the Sniper, and it's thicker hull would be more convincing than most. And yeah, the Mobile HQ from the Dark Age base set barely fits on its base, and would definitely work for something in a bigger scale. The Hawk Moth Gunship is cute as hell, and might work as a light one-man flier, much like the ones from Knowhere in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. |

Might be able to repurpose some of the more high-tech looking tanks as drones and little robot-vehicles. |
