I figure I can use 15mm scifi weapons with 1/72 scale figs fairly well. I tried printing the guns from Rebel Mini's shop on Shapeways but they would not come out cleanly. Will keep looking in that regard.

Some replacement heads would be stellar. Maybe a curved "mask" that is essentially a gasmask or high tech faceplate. You could glue these onto existing modern and ww2 figs to "uptech" them. Then again they might end up costing as much as a full head to print. It would take some experimenting I am sure.

20mm battle droids. Not super battle droids. Just something human sized in 1/72. Hand held weapons. Doesn't have to infringe on IPs…just something in that ballpark.

Maybe some upteched backpacks?

So are the vehicles. So are the robots (and there are over a half dozen different types of robot soldier), so is the Ralnai Light Cruiser (!!!) multimedia starship kit….

Hope this helps you with your delinquency!evil grin

Thanks Leland :) I like a few sculpts but most seem more retro scifi than hard scifi.

The Scene has some 15mm droids which might be chunky enough to work as 20mm: link

Denizen have some 25mm weapons and backpacks which, likewise, might work in the smaller scale as they're more realistically proportioned than the usual half-tonne bolter nonsense: denizenminiatures.co.uk

The Tin Solider Phillips bots might work.

@eraticassasin

I think you are right about the heavy droids if memory serves. Thanks for the tip about the weapons too!

Cloud Captain – what Shapeways materials you use/order? I ask because I'm messing around with them now myself…..
