I got my copy of Bloody Big Battles in the mail yesterday and would like to try it on my crew next week. We have Franco-Prussian war figures. Which of the scenarios in the book is well suited for an introductory battle? I'm thinking of 4 players, all new to the game while I umpire/game master/whatever. First impressions do count – I hope none of the crew decide they don't want to play again. My first impression of the rules is quite good, now to see how it plays. |

Thanks for the question. I'd recommend Loigny / Poupry as a good starting scenario, for several reasons: - the terrain is relatively simple to set up - the forces are relatively small - initially both sides have only a few troops on table, so players can get the hang of the rules before all the reinforcements arrive - and it is a good fun game in which both sides do plenty of manoeuvring. I hope you and your crew have a good time with BBB. Let us know how the game goes. Chris |

Will try. Set up the game and nearly maxed out my French. Ran out of Gardes Mobiles, had to use a line unit for one. 6 stands of line infantry remain unused in the box along with one mitrailleuse, a bunch of cavalry and officers. |

Also the free Tanca scenario was suggested as well. Might be worth a try |

Yes please to pictures. I don't get to game often and love to see what people are doing in areas I am interested in. |
