"Interest is rapidly growing among Nordic militaries in developing technologies to improve situational awareness and model battlefield conditions, allowing command center staff to rapidly respond to an evolving operational environment.

Nordic nations will review proposals intended to boost collaborative training and simulation over the next couple of years. Such programs will also be featured prominently in ongoing Finn-Swede bilateral defense cooperation plans.

The European Union's Swedish-led Nordic battle group (NBG), a multinational force of 2,400, field-tested new training and simulation technologies during a weeklong national certification program held in southern Ireland in June. The NBG — which also comprises units from Finland, Norway, Ireland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia — is scheduled to enter mission standby mode in January…"
