For about 5 weeks now, I have been waiting to receive a reply to several messages I sent to Litko through their webpage.

I've called their toll-free number, but I either get the closed/out of office message or it just rings and rings.

Anyone know if they are temporarily unavailable or just THAT BUSY to where they unable to respond?

I am looking to get 100mm edge to edge hexes made, in their 3mm plywood….but no response.

I know Warbases already has these available, but the shipping will cost me far more than I really want to pay and I doubt that the holiday bustle will be friendly to Royal Mail shipments across the Atlantic.

So, unless there is someone else who does such bases in the US, I NEED Litko to respond to me….

Unless they price themselves so high that international postal rates become a bargain… :)

Placed an order with them on 21st Nov and it was shipped out the 25th.

So they where working a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck.

I had very quick service in the last month on my two orders with them.

Historicalgamer11 Dec 2014 12:51 p.m. PST

I just received order two days ago also.

If you cannot get in contact with them game craft miniatures does hexes, you could give them a try.

I read this topic title as Hello Kitty? I was very excited until I discovered I had misread it.

They don't want your money…

Justin,

I've had the same ill-luck with a 20mm side-to-side hex base special request. Sent it in twice and still no response.

Orders for regularly carried bases don't seem to take that long, but special requests for new products seem to never get answered.

Maybe I'll have to try Game Craft Miniatures even though it will be slightly more expensive. (Thanks for the tip Bashy!)

I appreciate the responses….sorry, I don't do Hello Kitty, but to each their own. :)

I haven't had problems with Litko in the past and I do like their bases, but time is becoming more an issue as the 25th approaches.

I'll likely give Game Craft a try.

I was thinking more along the lines of Neil Diamond. :)

Litko is notoriously slow. Usually takes 4-6 weeks to get an order and this time of year maybe longer…

tberry740312 Dec 2014 11:11 a.m. PST

The only time it took 4-6 weeks for them fill one of my orders was when I special ordered something.

See my post above. It took them 4 days from my placing an order to them to fill it. It took another 4-5 days for delivery.

Agreed, that has been my experience also.

Had great service and personal attention just two or three weeks ago for some custom made hex bases.

Quite unaware of a problem, personally.

Based on my experience, they are well worth waiting for, but I hope they are not encountering serious problems.

Justin,

I'm sorry for the poor service.

I think your emails may be getting caught by our spam filter. Is there another email address we can try to get to you?

Justin Penwith12 Dec 2014 5:15 p.m. PST

Ken,

I have been using the comment feature from your CONTACT US tab, not sending emails.

It may be there is a glitch with that feature. It has worked in the past, as you responded, but my first message to you, recently, was sent in the early part of November or late October. My last such message was about 3 weeks ago, maybe 2.

Basically, I would like a quote on 100mm hexes (measured edge to edge, not point to point) made from 3mm plywood.

You guys have been great before, but I was curious if something had gone wrong.

tberry740312 Dec 2014 6:58 p.m. PST

You do know you can use their BaseMaker tool to design your own bases?

litko.net/BMaker

I did one for 100mm flat-to-flat hexes made of 3mm plywood:

10 – $21.99 USD

25 – $42.99 USD

50 – $74.99 USD

100 – $129.99 USD

Justin Penwith12 Dec 2014 8:04 p.m. PST

Yes, but how much of that is a set up cost vs piece cost? I would like to know if the over $2 USD for each hexagon is actually the result of the BaseMaker is sharing this cost out or if I can pay a one-time set-up fee and then pay a much lower cost per piece.

As much as I have been pleased with Litko products in the past (and I still have several hundred of their bases waiting to be used in a project I am working on), the price difference with a competitor does weigh on me.

The price of approximately $.70 USD each from Warbases with a nearly $20 USD cost to ship from Warbases vs $2.19 USD each with about $10 USD in shipping is a comparison that I would like a more accurate quote, if possible.

tberry740312 Dec 2014 8:20 p.m. PST

I see!

Thanks for explaining.

LITKO Ken Sponsoring Member of TMP13 Dec 2014 8:32 a.m. PST

Justin,

tberry7403 is correct. The easiest way to get these is by using BaseMaker.

There is no setup fee in there, those are simply the prices for those quantities. The 100 pack has the best per-piece price at $1.29 USD each. If you were to buy them again, the prices would be the same.

Now… if you need an extraordinarily large amount, we can quote you on a project basis and get the price down further. The price would be 0.71 each in quantities of 700 and greater.

Also keep in mind the material you are getting. These prices are for 3mm 3-ply plywood. I do not know what warbases uses, but I know a lot of our competitors use MDF.

We would be able to deliver in about 7-10 days depending on quantity.

Ken,

I appreciate your response. Again, I do not have any complaint with Litko, I was just wondering if there was a known issue with getting a response (especially this time of year).

I'll run the numbers on what I need vs costs and base my decision on that.

Best of luck to Litko… I certainly rely on you for most of my gaming accessory needs.
