If you're using flocked, poly tiles for your baseboard, how do you stop them sliding round during play? Do you need a special table with a lip round the edge or is there an alternative amyone can suggest.

I'm talking about 2'x2' tiles.

Velcro tabs on the corners and center? Are you using any form of tablecloth?

Not using anything yet – looking into suggestions before taking the plunge. Tablecloth would be a good start, certainly.

Masking tape rolls underneath

I use a flannel table cloth. My poly tiles do not move at all.

I use a roll of anti slip matting, sold for lining your car boot to stop things sliding about. Even more useful put under board games while use tiles.

Any kind of cloth underneath will do the trick, just make sure it's not wrinkled. Big sheets of sugarpaper taped down will work also pretty well. A few tiny dabs of blu-tak will do it, but may leave marks on the table surface underneath the tiles. If you use velcro you probably won't need both sides – the 'hooks' or 'eyes' side will give enough traction on the polystyrene.

For 2x2 tiles I'd use the little sticky rubber pads that are designed to stop furniture sliding on laminate floors. Every hardware store has them, cheap as chips. One each corner and one in the middle would do the trick.

Duct tape on the underside sticks great, is nice ane wide and peels off easily when you are finished.

I am working on some polystyrene dungeon tiles. I am planning on using those self adhesive felt pads.

I have a couple of felt cloths that I use to cover my table. Hopefully that will keep them from sliding around.

I haven't done it myself, but if I did use terrain tiles, I'd probably use the thin rubber-coated mesh that is sold for placing under hallway rugs so they don't slip around. It's cheap, comes in a roll and doesn't require adhering anything to your tiles or table.

You can find it at most any Big-Box or home improvement store.
