The models are incredibly detailed, with no resin bubbles (I think I had one, but it was on the bottom of the mini).

Haven't played the game though.

The game itself is fun and has some fairly quick playing mechanics. It's focused not only on destroying your enemy but also capturing and holding onto objectives…both can win you the game.

The way that you build your army list is quite unique and allows for a large degree of variety.

Although the rule framework is pretty solid, the rulebook itself is a bit confusing and a FAQ to clear up a few issues is being put together. The rulebook is going up as a free download on their website in early-mid Jan (I think 12th Jan was the date announced) and the download will have all the FAQ included so will be a clearer and better rulebook for it.

The models are simply fantastic and there are a heap of releases set for next year to increase the range of all six core factions as well as a number of minor factions.

There are rules being worked on so that games of Planetfall can be tied int with games of Firestorm Armada.

Thanks for the replies I'll look for more info and hopefully get some preview rules before buying, I especially liked the forces shown in the starter set that's what's drawn me into considering buying.

I have the starter set and yes the minis are very nice. I am reading the rules and it seems like a good game if you like Firestorm Armada then you will probably like this game.
