The German invasion of Denmark…

YouTube link

A couple of interesting shots in this teaser :-)

10:1 the Danish soldier with glasses will get killed.

3:1 after he dies, his buddy will take off his glasses and fold them on his chest

I had no idea the Danes fought so much.

Silurian10 Dec 2014 3:27 p.m. PST

Look forward to that!

(OT, but there was a link to "1864 Battle of Dybböl", which I haven't seen. Dramatic and brutal.)

I had no idea the Danes fought so much.

There was a tiny bit of very intense fighting, then the government decided to capitulate to avoid destruction and civilian deaths in an obviously lost cause. Having Norway invaded to their north probably didn't help.

"Sixteen Danish soldiers died in the invasion, but after two hours the Danish government surrendered…"
From Wiki.

Looks well done…

Wow guys, you don't think the film might exaggerate the action for dramatic effect? What respectable film industry would possibly do that?

In the invasion action scene that is a bloody realistic Pzr 2. Gonna have to ask Xim our Danish friend about this one when she comes over for Xmas.

You've got to love motorcycle-mounted 20mm ATRs. They've also got very correct markings on that Pzkw II, for Pz. Abt. z. B. v. 40.

As a Dane, I am duty-bound to watch it.

I imagine it'll end up being mostly a character drama but that's all fine.

As an aside, you could probably get away with using Polish figures for us, particularly in 15mm.

PCS Dane11 Dec 2014 3:30 p.m. PST

@Weasel; yeah, Polish or maybe Dutch? The helmets are HUGE :-)

And, yes, being a Dane this is not something to miss….

Weasel11 Dec 2014 9:41 p.m. PST

Since most miniatures have comic-book helmets anyways, I imagine they'll actually look realistic in this case :-)

spontoon11 Dec 2014 10:07 p.m. PST

I think the Danish helmet is too distinctive. Perhaps this will jump start figure manufacturers to do some Danes!
