By whining about it every chance I get? Keeping my mouth shut was never my strongest virtue.

You could always blame it on Winston. |
Tango01 | 10 Dec 2014 12:03 p.m. PST |
I support you John! Hope you do the same for the "Age of Sail" Board!. (smile) Amicalement Armand |
skippy0001 | 10 Dec 2014 12:20 p.m. PST |
Could I sneak in ImagiNations or VSF on that board? |
Ivan DBA | 10 Dec 2014 12:20 p.m. PST |
Doomed indeed. We will only get a "Colonial Victorian" board if someone uses that as the name of a game (and makes some mysterious and undisclosed arrangement). |
Ratbone | 10 Dec 2014 12:37 p.m. PST |
I say, a Colonial Victorian Board would be absolutely smashing, wot? |
epturner | 10 Dec 2014 12:52 p.m. PST |
Same here. All in for one! Eric |
RavenscraftCybernetics | 10 Dec 2014 1:02 p.m. PST |
this should be a poll. oops, never mind. |
War Artisan | 10 Dec 2014 1:04 p.m. PST |
It's not your fault, John. You're just one small factor in the equation. The odds of a new board appearing (B) are inversely proportional to the product of the number of people requesting it (N), the public visibility of the requests (P), and the vehemence with which the proponents of said board make their requests (V). B = 1/(N x P x V) Thus, the chances of a board appearing which is requested by a single person in secret approach 1, while crowds clamoring on a public forum reduce the odds to "vanishingly small". |

Is the OP suggesting John has the 'evil eye':
Or, perhaps, the kiss of death:
Regardless, I think a Colonial Victorian board would be a pretty good thing. |
Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut | 10 Dec 2014 3:29 p.m. PST |
Yes, John, you have doomed it. And DOOMED US ALL!!!!! |
KTravlos | 10 Dec 2014 3:46 p.m. PST |
Nope. You are doing fine. I feel the board would adversely cut down the amount of content in the 19th century boards, and that would suck. Ergo my imitating Don Giovanni to your guys Commendatore. No, Si, Nooo, Siii, NOOOOO, SIIIII, NOOOOOOOOO! |
vikingtim | 10 Dec 2014 4:57 p.m. PST |
I'm on the fence on this topic. Given that Napoleonics and ACW (rightly) have their own top-level boards, and the Carlist wars has a board within the 19th Century area for itself, it might make sense. But I presume that there isn't anything that hasn't been posted for want of a new board for colonial stuff specifically? Like everyone else, I am confused by the inconsistency of Editor Bill's approaches to creating new boards. |
wrgmr1 | 10 Dec 2014 5:07 p.m. PST |
Absolutely wizard idea, a Victorian Colonial board. Just watch out for sharpened mangoes! |
Editor in Chief Bill | 10 Dec 2014 5:36 p.m. PST |
Why don't you just ask Editor Julia to run the poll early? |
John the OFM | 10 Dec 2014 7:25 p.m. PST |
Gosh, is it that easy? |

"Why don't you just ask Editor Julia to run the poll early?" Um would it not make more sense for you to do that as proprietor? You know chain of command sort of thing. Otherwise everyone might think they can issue instructions which would be confusing don't you think? |
Winston Smith | 12 Dec 2014 10:52 a.m. PST |
The Poll is running now. Last time I checked "YES" had 41 votes at 74% with 50 needed. And that's barely a half day. So, vote early and vote often. |
138SquadronRAF | 12 Dec 2014 12:26 p.m. PST |
Do you get two votes John? One as The OFM and one as Winston Smith? At least you got a poll. Our Dear Leader decided that the Naval Board didn't need a poll. |
Winston Smith | 12 Dec 2014 12:27 p.m. PST |
As for the Fighting Sail etc boards, why not PM Editor Julia, like the OFM did? That seems to have worked. |
Editor in Chief Bill | 12 Dec 2014 6:12 p.m. PST |
Um would it not make more sense for you to do that as proprietor? You know chain of command sort of thing. Otherwise everyone might think they can issue instructions which would be confusing don't you think? I didn't say "boss Julia around," I said "ask her nicely." |
Winston Smith | 12 Dec 2014 7:25 p.m. PST |
And it worked. I asked nicely , there was a poll and now the board! |
John the OFM | 14 Dec 2014 10:37 a.m. PST |
Do you get two votes John? One as The OFM and one as Winston Smith? Winston voted "no opinion". To vote otherwise would be cheating. Iwill not say how the vote would stay if it came close, but the results seem to be a slam dunk. |
