I am looking to flesh out an army for a DBMM tourney next year and I am going to need a bunch of African spear. I had a look at Falcon figures but they didn't have anything that seemed to make decent spear (they looked more like Auxilla).

What is everyone else using?

Blue Moon Miniatures has a large, versatile range in the larger scale of 18mm. Irregular Miniatures has a somewhat smaller range in the scale of 15-16 mm. You'll have to search the Irregular site a little to find them.

Donnington has a Blemmyes-Nobades range – link – with a couple of spearmen, but I don't know what they look like.

What you may be looking for is something like the kneeling "Sudanese tribal" warrior at

– he is based on Kushite graffiti from the Meroitic period.

Feudal Castings make some.

Essex pre-Islamic Arabs might also be useful.

The Sgt Major Miniatures link that Tarantella provided is to the old Feudal Castings range:

Thanks for the replies everyone. After playing with the list I discovered I can actually skip the spear altogether if I take a lot of Camels.

I suspect there is an Essex order in my future ;-).

don't take camels to a DBMM game… Desert Rajput is possibly the worst army in the 4 books. Yes, I have one :-)
