If I had some sailing ships. For instance some napoleonic fleets and I was after simple easy rules to use. Along the the lines of victory at sea. Where or who would I turn to?? |

Good question. They look pretty, bu the book-keeping! We need a DBx for naval. |

I like Kiss Me Hardy. If you download the ready ships for Traflagar you have enough ready made ships for multiple battles. The rules are simple and the system is good. Perfect for small squadron actions. |

The sails of Glory game is very good. The advanced section allows you to manage sail state and what type of shot you have ready in York cannons. The beauty of the system is how easy it is to maintain your ships during the game. I was a big close action player until sails of Glory came out. Matthew |

Someone once described Form Line of Battle as the DBA of AoS gaming. I hope they were being complimentary :) |

I own the first edition of Form Line of Battle. It is an easy game to play and requires little in the way of book keeping. You can get the 5th edition here. link It's warm work is another simple one to try out. link Junior General site has a free and simple set. In fact it doesn't get simpler than these I think. Trafalgar here. link |

it is Warm Work is the easiest and my group likes it. My one complaint is fleet actions are a little loose. Command and Control rules are recommended. Form Line of Battle is also good and more comprehensive. My group felt the combat charts weren't as simple as they would like. I don't mind though. The movement system is simple and a favorite of mine. The former gives a quicker game. Suggest looking at both. |

I know I'm a little late on this one, (vacation mode). I have a set of home brewed rules for Napoleonic Naval gaming. Very easy to use and enjoyable to play. No book keeping. I use them for my 1/600 scale ships. We have used them for everything from a 200th anniversary of Trafalgar to small one on one Frigate actions. Drop me a email off line and I will send them to you. PS. Work on some historical scenarios also, so I will send them as well. Bob Henry Coalinga, CA. badbobalbino@aol.com |

Bob, will your home brewed rules work for 1/1200 scale? If so I would like to try them. Vol |

They should work for any scale. You will just need to adjust movement and ranges. Or you could leave it as is. Bob |
