They look rather unpleasant to be around.

Very nice! I'd never have thought of purple, but it looks good.

They can also be used as Disney's Gargoyles with that purple paint job.

Those are nice. They remind me of the Harryhausen Harpies from Jason and the Argonauts.

Speaking of Harpies, I'm currently watching the anime "Sanzoku no Musume Ronja," which is based on Astrid Lindgren's "Ronja the Robber's Daughter."

The tale has a particularly menacing variety of Harpy and Studio Ghibli has done an excellent job of realizing the evil nature of the creatures. Watching the latest episode I think little kids might be scared of the Harpy that almost carries off the main character.

This image from episode one doesn't do them justice.

Dear rvandusen

Yes exactly. They do remind me of the Harpies from Jason and the Argonauts.

As harpies they aren't bad. I don't think they need weapons but that's a minor quibble. As I understood it that like some wives, they made the person miserable and anguished just by their being around and needed no other mechanism. Their screeching and bullying were enough.

But I think there were only three of them. No matter though

Do you think they will ever come up with a cure for harpies simplex?

Pretty nifty paint job concealing these harpies are not exactly Wargames Foundry's best sculpts ever.

Great work on the conversions and I agree, I really like the Harryhausen paint job!

According to the Argonautica of Apollonius of Rhodes, harpies have feathers and don't have weapons. Harpies are mainly problems because they steal your food and defecate on any food that's left.

Tango0109 Dec 2014 11:19 p.m. PST

But those are "badass" Harpies!. (smile)

Of course they're "badass" harpies. Have you ever met a "goodass" harpy? Don't answer that question.
