Was thinking of building up some Greek forces for the Balkan Wars and early WW1 and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for depicting Evzone Infantry in 20mm. Thanks for any help. Mark |

At 20mm it is a bit difficult. Miniatures are detailed enough that you cannot easily proxy. This is a picture of Evzones in Campaign Uniform during the Balkan Wars (similar uniform to WW1)
One solution might be to use heavily converted askari or Highlanders in khaki kilt. Or infantry with a long tunic but not overcoat. Another one (heretical) might be using WW1 or Balkan War Ottoman infantry in tunic and paining the leggings white. |

Figs exist, but I can't remember the manufacturer. perhaps EWM. Early War Miniatures? |

Thanks KTravlos for the information. Helpful. I did look at the Early War Miniatures website. They make an Evzone for WWII that has a helmet which is not what would have been available to Balkan War and WWI troops. As a desperation I may do head swaps of these figures with Louisiana Tigers wearing caps. I also think Lowland Scots with head swaps might work as Travlos suggests. |

Lancer Miniatures have a small Balken Wars range -no Greeks yet but you never know. |

@ Marcus Brutus; Scots might do… but the evzone cap is a pillbox affair. Like a low fez. I'll keep looking for the range I saw. It's not Irregular Miniatures or IT Miniatures. |

Lots of evzones in 15mm or 28mm… |

I agree spontoon that there would be head swaps to do but I don't need a regiment's worth (doing Great War Spearhead.) |

@Marcus Brutus; I wouldn't do head swaps. They all pop off simultaneously; always at the most inconvenient moment! I'd just carve the glengarry down to a cylinder, and add the tassel. You'll need to add tassels and pom-poms on the legs/feet anyway, so lots of green-stuff work. too bad yer not doing 15mm; the Eureka Miniatures evzones are beautiful! |
