Painted up a pair of Brigade Models Sohie tanks for my European Union forces. I added some extra bits and pieces I had lying around since there are a lot of flat surfaces which reminds me of a bar of soap. The models were airbrushed in Vallejo model air Olive Grey, Dark Green with Green Zinc and Light Green highlights, followed by light weathering with Tamyia pigments.

Love that design.

Reminds me a bit of the M60A2 Starship.

That is a really nice design. You did it justice with a excellent paintjob. I really do like it a lot.
Just take an extra sec and dab a bit of decal solution to clean up the shine. :-)

Great work.

I particularly like the subtlety of the very fine highlight on the hull. If I had to criticise anything (and I'm really struggling to) it looks like you had a bit of hassle with the decals silvering. It was only visible on the 26 inch monitor I'm now looking at the shots with.

I take it you put the decals over a matt finish?

John T

PS – still a fab paint job! :)

Thanks all.

Yeah, I forgot to put a layer of future floor finish before decaling. Fixed that up now.

The Vallejo airbrush modulation colors are really nice and help create the subtle highlight.

Not usually a huge brigade fan but this is a nice tank.

This is the only model of theirs that I have. I am not fan of hover vehicles or overly alien looking stuff. However, this vehicle integrated well with my Old Crow models, so I bought two of them. Luckly I had some extra bits to stick on which broke up the large flat areas a bit.

Luckly I had some extra bits to stick on which broke up the large flat areas a bit.

From the start Kirk and i wanted to design a bruiser of a hover tank, something that would look like it could dish out as well as take some serious punishment, we wanted a heavy looking tank and decided that solid slabs of plate Chobom armour would fit the bill as it does on the current day Abrams and Challenger MBT's so the flat areas are deliberate. We agreed that if anyone wanted to add some stowage to the hull it would be quite easy to do once they sourced the appropriate items that they wanted to add but the flat hull areas are quite intentional, looking down on photo # 4 like you would on the games table the add on side stowage is not that noticable due to the colour scheme but the Sohei still looks fine in my opinion, and trying not to sound overly bias i think its one of the best looking Sci-fi hover MBT's out there. :) zac

I agree Zac. That is why I added it to my Old Crow forces. It was just the style I was looking for.
