Thaks to your advice, guys I avoided buiying crappy book.
Now I've got another question – do you know "The Valiant died" by Christine Swager
link

Or maybe I should skip this book and buy all tomes of Kelley's "Nothing but blood and slaughter" ?

O'Kelley's four books are wonderful – get them anyway.

Not seen the Swager book, perhaps others can comment.

@SM
Do Kelley's books contain maps ? Plenty of maps ?
Maps for at least every medium scale encounter ?
Something like Wilson's "The Southern Strategy" ?

Just flicked through a couple of them. Battle maps, not much beyond the bigger actions unfortunately, plus some generic theatre and specific campaign maps. To be fair, a lot of the skirmish locations are probably not known exactly, whilst others have been built on or altered in some other way. They are very good on the course of the action and orbats, though.

It's OK for me. I'm not a historian but wargamer and I'm interested in battles not smaller than let's say Hobkirk's Hill or Eutaw.

I've chatted with Pat O'Kelley personally. According to him,the War was won in the South. JUST THE SOUTH. He despises anything north of the Mason Dixon line. Sad considering he's a decorated former Special Op's soldier. Very smart guy,but very unreasonable at the same time.
