Was Antigonas on a Palanquin, though? I always thought he commanded from one at Ipsus (he does in the Alfred Duggan novel) but someone told me years ago, here, that there was no evidence for it. If there is, then I'll have to make one in 28mm! |

Actual evidence, not that I'm aware of. Since this is the precise moment that Diodorus goes all fragmentary, what do we even have for Ipsus, aside from Plutarch's Life of Demetrius? But one could claim that it was justified, on the grounds that Antigonus was, after all, over eighty, and is supposed to have had a nasty fall on the morning of the battle (if you believe Plutarch), couldn't one? And it is a lovely model. |
