So ordering anything from War Web is problematic (especially when the figures are from a different manufacturer like Old Glory 25s), but ordering straight from 19th Century Miniatures (aka OG15s) is just fine since 19th Century make their own figures?

BTW thanks for the info Lucius.

49mountain08 Jan 2015 2:09 p.m. PST

Komradebob – Excellent idea. Sic the Feds on them. That should produce some kind of response.

komradebob09 Jan 2015 7:46 a.m. PST

49mountain:

I hate the idea of actually going through with it, but this whole thing could have been avoided by Warweb by simply answering a damn email occasionally or picking up the phone when it rings.

(And by being ready with product or refund, after a certain reasonable point in time)

Clays Russians09 Jan 2015 9:10 a.m. PST

I do business with four firms, Brookhurst, stone mountain, Minifigs, and Spencer Smith,- occasionally Musket minis too. All have given excellent first class service. Just about everything I ever honestly need (as opposed to want) I get from them! I highly recommend all!!!

designernorth24 Jan 2015 1:07 p.m. PST

I just got a notice from my credit card company that the disputed charge was settled in my favor. Apparently the cc company couldn't get through to Warweb either.

PVT64104 Feb 2015 11:40 a.m. PST

I find it very telling that in the length of thime that this thread has been going that there has been no response on it from Warweb. I see that on alot of these other Consummer Affairs threads the company in question usually joins in shortly.

komradebob04 Feb 2015 8:47 p.m. PST

More telling. I emailed them after my last post. Still no contact, and I specifically mentioned these threads in my email.

No figures. No contact. No nuthin.

Sometime this week I'm going to try snail mail.

I'm not optimistic about it.

komradebob06 Feb 2015 7:26 a.m. PST

The continuing saga…

I dropped them a letter in the post today. Not yet a registered letter, but we'll see what happens. Anyone else who has had problems, I suggest you do the same.

Who knows, maybe something good will come of it if they get several in quick order.

I'll continue to post until I either go to filing complaints or I get some satisfaction, as I know a number of other members here have had similar frustrations with warweb.

HANS GRUBER06 Feb 2015 1:28 p.m. PST

This thread never seems to die. I haven't purchased anything from WarWeb/Grandosity in many years. I was under the impression Old Glory 15 and Grandosity were under the same management. They seem to have the same address in Michigan. Are people having sucess buying from Old Glory 15?

komradebob07 Feb 2015 8:00 a.m. PST

This thread could easily die. All it would take is a bit of communication from Warweb, and an actual attempt to make good on the purchases people have made but never received.

PVT64109 Feb 2015 7:15 a.m. PST

Komeradebob' Right on!

Shadowcat2018 Feb 2015 12:10 a.m. PST

Done business with them for a few years. 4 month wait time is the norm for me and I live in the same state. In 2013 it took over 4 months to straighten out my order after sending 1 wrong pack and backordering another. Good news is they double sent the missing packs in the end. Just sent another order Nov 5 of last year, Sent them a what the heck E-mail Dec 28 and a week later got a comment about them being backed up at the production plant with no firm date in mind for delivery. Was asked if I wanted my money back and I said yes. Sent another what the heck Jan 22 as I was never refunded or had my product delivered. Still waitng for an reply, package, or refund. Not really worth the hassle when you have no clue when your product will arrive (if ever. Beginning to feel like they have cash flow issues with the production plant. That is never a good thing and makes me leery of ordering again.

codiver18 Feb 2015 6:24 a.m. PST

I saw the post about Old Glory 15 and Grandosity were under the same management. I am looking at possibly getting into 25/28mm AWI, starting with Old Glory 25s, but if they are the same management/company as Grandosity I won't go that route. Can any one clarify?

Thanks,
Dave

HANS GRUBER18 Feb 2015 2:19 p.m. PST

Old Glory 25 has no relationship with OG15.

daler240D18 Feb 2015 11:55 p.m. PST

That's a very confusing circumstance.

cplcampisi20 Feb 2015 7:28 p.m. PST

Ok. So I had to call Warweb again last month (and by call Warweb, I mean call the other company that's in the same building). My order that was placed on August 12, 2014 arrived today (February 20, 2015).

The miniatures were packed in a smaller box than usual, and the lances look a lot more bent than usual, but I don't think anything is broken. When I managed to get Warweb on the phone I asked them to remove the Gray Wash from the order, and while I did not receive the gray wash I was still charged for it. It's not a big deal to me (a little more than three dollars), and I suspect that the nature of their system may have made it difficult to actually remove it from the order.

I'm very reluctant to order from them again, but I don't know where else to get Old Glory 25mm miniatures, other than direct from Old Glory. Warweb does have good prices, and I don't order enough minis to benefit from subscribing to Old Glory's discount.

daler240D21 Feb 2015 4:14 a.m. PST

DUDE!!!! you are "reluctant" to order from them again?!?!?! Have you heard of Stockholm Syndrome????

cplcampisi21 Feb 2015 3:41 p.m. PST

LOL! Touche daler240D . . . touche. :-)

The fact of the matter is, I've got friends who have been ordering from Warweb while all this was going on with no problems! They got their miniatures in a couple of weeks, no problems.

P.S. In my defense I wrote "very reluctant" ;-)

Shadowcat2022 Feb 2015 8:38 p.m. PST

I suspect delivery time is based upon weather he orders them from others or has them in stock vs producing them to order.

PVT64123 Feb 2015 7:14 a.m. PST

Still waiting for back ordered items ordered 5/29/14!

LesCM1923 Feb 2015 3:16 p.m. PST

Maybe these companies get bought out & run down just to eliminate the opposition…?

cplcampisi24 Feb 2015 7:51 p.m. PST

In my case the order was not properly processed, so it wasn't filled until I was able to get them on the phone. Which is the primary problem -- they don't answer the phone or emails. Once I got them to put the order in the "queue" it only took a couple of weeks.

komradebob25 Feb 2015 8:01 a.m. PST

Well, that s a major problem though.

I also received a partial order ( the part they cast on site) when I finally got to talk to someone after months ( and through the Oldglory15s contact info, not the Grandiosity ph#).

But I can't get any response on the rest of the order. I've gone to the extent of snailmailing them, with both my phone# and email addie included.

No email. No phone call. No letter. No miniatures.

That was in January. It had already been 6 months at that point.

These guys have the most incompetent, unresponsive sense of customer service ever.

I mean, jeez, I once had a bunch of snafus with an order from Warlord Games that took nearly 6 months to resolve too. It happens. But those guys at least responded to emails, even if the only response was, effectively, "Saw your email. Sorry about the problems. Give me a day or two to look into and we will get it all sorted" and, eventually, they did.

I never felt like I was being cheated of money during that whole, frustrating experience. I just felt like I'd been unlucky, and had gotten caught up in some bout of poor communication.

With Grandiosity, I feel cheated. They've taken my money, only filled part of my order ( and only after I've jumped over absurd barrels to get that done), ignored their own customer contact methods, and won't even do me the courtesy of sending me a "Gosh, We're real sorry about that…"
email.

At a certain point, it stops being incompetence or bad organization, and becomes theft.

PVT64126 Feb 2015 5:56 a.m. PST

At a certain point, it stops being incompetence or bad organization, and becomes theft.

You are correct Comerade!

komradebob03 Mar 2015 7:13 a.m. PST

As of today, still nuthin, even after snail-mailing them.

Even if they'd put my alternative suggestion ( something they cast) to replace the West Wind minis they apparently can't get, no response of any kind.

No refund. No West Wind. No Battle Honors alternative suggestion castings as a replacement ( I thought perhaps the money I sent was already spent and there was problem there, so I'd just suggest something they could cast from materials and moulds they own…)

No email response or phone contact, even though I put both sorts of info in my letter.

These guys are just plain thieves.

I doubt they started that way. I doubt they intend it that way.

But when you simply ignore contacts, only send partial orders ( at best), and ignore backlog problems, all while keeping the money, that's exactly what you are.

Never order from these people.

Neverever.

Shadowcat2007 Mar 2015 4:10 p.m. PST

As of Thursday been 4 months since I sent in my order and over 2 since they asked if I wanted a refund. Still no minis, cash, or contact. See lots of others with 6 month deliver times so Not ready to call BBB or pay Pal yet…but getting close.

monger10 Mar 2015 5:34 a.m. PST

Four months?!?! That is waaaaay too long. I would call the BBB asap and let the chips fall. Save everyone a great deal of a hassle. That's crazy.

pnguyenho10 Mar 2015 6:39 p.m. PST

I ordered from Warweb back in 2001 when I starting gaming again. It took 4 months to fill an order for 2 packs of figures. No communication to say there would be a delay in processing shipment. I never ordered from them again.

Dynaman878915 Mar 2015 6:40 a.m. PST

You better call PP, I think you are coming up on the time limit for filing a dispute.

TiberiusAugustus15 Mar 2015 5:59 p.m. PST

You have 180 days to file a dispute with PayPal. I'm coming up on 3 months with no reply and thinking about opening a dispute….

monger15 Mar 2015 6:03 p.m. PST

Open one! Three months is way over due. In this day an age that kind of service should never be. I wouldn't hesitate.

Shadowcat2010 May 2015 2:36 p.m. PST

Over 6 months now. Highly suggest not dealing with this company as he takes your money and does not return E-mails or product.

PVT64111 May 2015 12:59 p.m. PST

A year now for me and the back stock items never have shown. No response to emails.

Old Slow Trot13 May 2015 6:54 a.m. PST

Oy.

Smokey Roan13 May 2015 12:54 p.m. PST

Wow. Used to order all the time from them in 2009ish. Fast, communication, and fast service and shipping.

Who are these alleged new owners? Name names.

Smokey Roan13 May 2015 4:36 p.m. PST

Seriously. Lets name some names! We work too hard on our painting and basing to see this.

I order from Brookhurst, Extra Crispy, War Store, Russell and the gang at OG/Blue Moon, Rebel Mike, Brigade, and a LOT of others who are gamers, are present on TMP, and all provide service like they are elated to you.

No need foer this clown ass Bleeped text!

Name names. Heck. I'll see what I can do to "fix them", and I gotta LOT of experience "fixing" folks, legally and …using other methods.

This is total BS and should NOT be tolerated in the gaming community.

Smokey Roan13 May 2015 4:38 p.m. PST

"and all provide service like they are elated to you."

My bad. Typo. Not "elated" but "related".

Although, every seller mentioned above does seem "elated" when you order. Because they are nice, good, and respectable, I imagine?

thehawk13 May 2015 8:16 p.m. PST

I suggest filing a complaint with the relevant attorney generals office. One reason is that the owners of a business are often not the people working in the store. Also the ownership might be more complex and "interesting" than one might think at first glance. Enough complaints and the AG may decide to bring out the big stick.

Secondly, dispute the charge with your card company. The merchant cops a hefty fine for the dispute and you should get your money back. It has always worked for me.

Thirdly, don't order from websites that don't provide business details.

Personal logo Saber6 Supporting Member of TMP Fezian19 May 2015 2:37 p.m. PST

I'm begining to believe that this is an un-attended WebStore. It just hums along with NO ONE at the controls.

deflatermouse25 May 2015 9:23 p.m. PST

Thank you for the heads-up. We are totally unaware for the track record of this company and will now deal else where.
Thank you for you time shareing, but sorry you had to get the experience this way.

Nikator26 May 2015 6:17 p.m. PST

I ordered 4 packs from Warweb on 5/1/15 in spite of all the negative comments on this thread, based upon past positive experience. The order arrived today in full, perfect. So it's not ALL bad.

Shadowcat2026 May 2015 7:25 p.m. PST

Been over 6 months on my order..he has not answered at least 2 e-mails in the last few months. About given up hope and looking at the BBB and other ideas. Even if I do get my order or the refund he offered 4 months ago not likely to ever do business with him again. It has also shifted me from 15 mm to 28mm for WWII figs.

Dragonteethsoldier1419 Jun 2015 4:10 a.m. PST

Any know the best way to cancel an order? I found this page after in the past they where great.

williamb20 Jun 2015 7:44 a.m. PST

Send an email and contact by phone cancelling the order and if you paid by credit card contact the credit card company to cancel or block the charge.

Diocletian28421 Jun 2015 4:02 a.m. PST

Good warning. I had thought about buying from them due to their lower cost. With all the troubles others are having, I am staying away. Lower cost not worth the trouble.

rmcaras Supporting Member of TMP21 Jun 2015 9:56 p.m. PST
