After a previous post, I have decided that I am going to give 15mm sci fi gaming a go. I was wondering what some recommendations for FREE rulesets are.

I am going to give Tomorrow's War a try, but have to wait until Christmas to get it, but in the meantime am itching to give something a try since I just scored some minis and some terrain.

Suggestions?

FUBAR.

I forget the Yahoo Group's name it is on, but the rules are pretty decent, AND…….you can't beat the price.

You will find Dirtside II, Stargrunt II, and the Full Thrust spaceship rules.

A bit of clarification to my previous post: I think that Dirtside II is more of a 6mm scale game.

Fast and Dirty is pretty comprehensive and free:

Chain Reaction for skirmish.

Pretty much any well designed rules set can be converted to 15 mm IMO, YMMV.

Another for FUBAR here.

Plenty of people play the GZG stuff in 15mm scale. Just depends on how big you want your games.

Are you looking for skirmish, company level or army level games? Then you talk complexity…. These are the two main questions to ask when choosing a rules system in my opinion.

Thanks for the suggestions – some great rule sets out there. I would like to do larger scale gaming, which is why I'm opting for 15mm over 28mm. But having the flexibility to do smaller, skirmish style scenarios is nice too.

FUBAR- no fully functional points system, but who needs that? :-)
Sensible force organizations and scenario driven games are great.
Fast and Dirty is also a great system, has points and tons of options.
FUBAR and it's supplements are available here:

Fast and Dirty(FAD4) 4th Edition is here:

By the way, there is also Forge Of War available from games shed and Beamstrike for a little old school gaming.
Beamstrike is more skirmish level so don't know if it suits your needs, but here's a link:
