So, I suspect I'm not the only one seeing these, and that pricing for others is similarly jumping, once you actually click on the ad's teaser rates.

For example, I'm interested in the Contact! Modern Canadian Army Rules, and had visited their site to see them.

Later, while using e-mail, I notice an offer for $9.95 USD from LuLu, but when I click on it, the price jumps from that to around $17.80 USD, IIRC.

Talk about bait and switch.

I can't imagine a 72 page rulebook costing $9.85 USD to ship, in the USA, via either 1st Class, or Media Mail. Perhaps they ship via Priority Mail.

Anyone have an experience with that?

Here's a link to the set, in case anyone is interested:

Thre's a better link, with more info, and reviews, but the price, including shipping from the UK runs more. Not working this morning, or I would have provided a link for it.

I see no way to select a cheaper shipping option.

Thoughts?

On the link it says for me Prix : 13,59€ likely your 17++

AFIAK Lulu has printers and sends from USA, Eu, Oz.
so carriage is never so bad if within these.
I had 150p colour of QG3 RN ship base, sent and received in a week for altogether under $20 USD; stuff I downloaded there myself.

You might have hit right when the owner of the product was changing his price/ ending his offer??

Try using a different browser to go directly to the URL and see what you get.

Or delete the Lulu cookies, or create an additional identity in your browser.

You've seen this more than once?

It is cheaper than my purchasing in the UK, and having it shipped from there, which would run about $24 USD, with the current exchange rate.

Is it possible you are looking at the PDF price and the link is to the printed book?

NM Something obviously is broken.

You can get 35% off today before midnight using code WQT32 on print books.

Never seen a price jump like that.

All I saw listed was a flat fee, e.g. no separate pricing info for the rules, and/or shipping.

I don't see a PDF option, but will check.

Thanks for the discount tip.

I always see multiple shipping options when I have purchased from them.

Mako11,

I would strongly recommend that you buy the book from the publisher, John Curry rather than Lulu. His prices show the shipping cost whereas these don't appear on Lulu until you reach the checkout. He also gets a bigger slice of the profits, and as publishing books is a sideline rather than his job, I am sure that he will appreciate the additional income.
