Ioannis, Very nicely done description of your method. The figures look very good and red, to my eyes, appears as a real natural dye rather than a more modern chemical dye. Congratulations. Jim |

larsdatter.com/18c/dye.html that link shows some excellent sources for period dyes and colors. Madder red was a muddier/orange-red dye made from a root; it was much less expensive than cochineal red,which was made from tiny insects' secretions, used in officers' uniforms and expensive clothes |
