Those were fun pictures! Why don´t we wear ties at the gaming table anymore? Or maybe we do and I just hang out with the wrong people. |

One thing I will say about the photos is wargaming seemed to be very serious back then. Aren't they having fun? |

Those GIs look like they're planning a raid from which some might not be returning; Perhaps fun was the last thing on their minds? |

Like Major B, I have seen all of those pictures except the third from the top "Stampa dell'epoca con ufficiali che studiano strategia" Anyone know the source of that, or the date, or what rules are being used. Nice to see all the pics on one page. By the way, Marcus, what is your source for this quote? "By the time of Frederick the Great demand for tin soldiers reached unimaginable levels. It was only at this time that the "game" is widespread among children." "Con l'epoca di Federico il Grande la richiesta di soldatini di stagno raggiunse livelli impensabili. E fu soltanto in quest'epoca che il "gioco" si diffuse fra i bambini." |

hello bobgnar, the information I have gathered in various places. But I seem to remember that those showing you I got them in Wikipedia "soldatini" (toy soldiers) in Italian. As for the image I have no information. |
