We've finally re-released our popular T-62, which is once again available on both our Cold War Soviet and our Yom Kippur War store pages.
I was particularly pleased by this kit and the way it captures the distinctive shape of the turret front of the T-62. This vehicle is unjustly maligned, some saying it was just a stepping stone between the T-55 and the T-72. In fact, in addition to its well-known role in the Yom Kippur War, the T-62 was the mainstay of the Soviet forces in Germany throughout the 60s and early 70s and saw action in many other wars since then, such as the war in Afghanistan (where it was the heaviest tank fielded, the T-72 not being used in that war), the Russian incursion into Georgia in 2006 and even the current Syrian Civil War, more than a few of the tanks in Syrian inventory being T-62s. The kit's re-release was delayed by an improvement based on customer input -- we're very pleased to report that the track lengths are now cast in pewter. We got lots of feedback about the cleanup of the resin between the wheels on the initial release kits, so we have had the lengths redone in pewter. By the way, the T-55 kit is now being supplied with pewter track lengths as well. Available here: link link

I hope you fixed the BMP's track also. Had to make some modifications. The road wheels where floating in space. check out my review and fix: link |

Hi, thanks for the link, but I'm not sure I understand what the problem was -- do you mean the warp of the treads? Resin casting for hobbies is very much a cottage industry and particularly for a very slender part like the bmp track lengths there will sometimes be a bit of warping. However this is very easily remedied by dipping the piece in hot water and holding it there for a few moments, then holding it pointed straight down. I did this when I got the first sets and the tracks snapped right back into place. |

I had to put strips of plastic on the hull. That was a had a place to attach the road wheels. There is a picture of the strips of plastic added to the hull. Unless the back sides of roads had nothing to attach to the hull. |

Gah! I almost ordered Battlefront tanks because these weren't in stock. |

Yes, saw that sgt Dutch, but the track lengths appear to bulge out a bit because of the plastic strips. I've not had that problem when I built one and haven't heard any feedback on this from other buyers. Maybe it was an issue with your casting. |

KM, fantastic!! I actually ordered 15mm North Korean custom decals for them! P.S. Please excuse the typos above…..it's harder to post from an iPhone with a virtual keyboard than on a computer with a hard keyboard. |

By the way, the NKs heavily use the T-62 as well. |

Do you have any crew for the tanks? I notice the hatches can be modeled open. |
khurasanminiatures | 03 Dec 2014 8:26 p.m. PST |
Not yet, have to get some to Mike so he can make them though. |

KM, if they are coming, maybe I can blue tack the hatches in place. I am anxious to fight the 2nd Korean War. South Korea is not going to invade itself. |

KM, After I paint up this batch of goodies, I may have to get some of your T-62s and see if I can turn them into these: link |

I am anxious to fight the 2nd Korean War. South Korea is not going to invade itself. Yes, but we need K1s and K2s to go face the Norks. |
