I have had a number of old 25mm Minifigs ECW languishing in a box for nearly 40 years. I was rather proud of them at the time and decided to spruce them up and get them ready for battle again. The results are on the blog link Simon |

Very cool. It's always nice to put older troops on a new table. Quite awhile back I was sprucing up an old Napoleonic French line infantryman and stopped to look at him for a minute. I wondered where he had been, what battles he'd fought and what feats of martial bravura he had accomplished….so I painted a Legion of Honor ribbon on his chest. Bob |

Nice. Those of us of a certain age cut our teeth primarily on either Minifigs or Hinchliffe – it was invariably one or t'other as they were really not compatible in style or size – as they were the only ranges that got around to covering all the necessary troop types and personalities. Always rather nostalgic to see such figures brought out and spruced up – very "toy soldierish" compared to more modern ranges, but worth seeing for all that. |

I still have lots of Minifigs 25mm ECW. I have also been spruced them up, foot and horse. I have had to pension off the Roundhead foot in there triple bar helmets, back and breast with tassets on there r musketeers range, one of the pikemen is left handed. They still stand up, with modern painting techniques. Just don't mixing them in with other figures. |

Actually I have successfully mixed in some Perry figures with the foot |

Here is a photo of Minifigs and Perry mixed together in the same unit – painted as Spanish. Although the latter are larger the proportions are not dissimilar. In any case we are not all the same size! link |
