So when folks are playing Skirmish games in 28mm, what rule sets are they using? How big are the forces on each side? Do you tend to use a small group of unique "characters" or more traditional military units? Thanks Terry |

I play IHMN,EOTD and Pulp Alley so it is really a mix, from full companies of characters to just one or two. C |

Interesting, no votes for Dystopian? |

I've bought IHMN based on the positive experience I had with it's forebearer ITEN (In The Emperor's Name), though I can't claim to have played it yet. It will definitely get some use when my RAFM "Airship Pirates" minis arrive next year. I generally prefer the smaller warband sized games, for something like this. As to Dystopian wars, it's a cool looking game, and I even considered buying in when Miniatures Market was blowing out the figures, but pulled back once I realized just how big the scale was. However, the RAFM figs might be pretty big themselves, so when they arrive I'll do some measuring to see if some Dystopian figs are in my future. |

There have been ints of a skrimish supplement to Tomorrow's War. If it happens it would be the cats pajamas. |

IHMN and G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T.[local combination of original and Battles By rules]; I prefer under ten for the former, and RavenscraftCybernetics defines what I feel is an upper limit for the later. My compatriots consider it a median force, so I feel lucky if the games are that size. ;->= Dystopian Legions? The two 'Wars' never seemed skirmish to me. After trying them a bit, and feeling a bit let down with Firestorm Armada as well, I was rather in 'fool me once, twice, thrice…' mode when Legions came out. I, too, would like to hear from supporters, or even a link to a thread of same. Doug |

GASLIGHT & Pulp Alley by a 3:1 ratio. There is just something about GASLIGHT – beyond its flexibility (we use it for everything from Wild West to Pulp adventures in the 30s) – that lends itself to a quick and fun game in our group of guys. Pulp Alley offers a lot, but it is almost impossible to kill or even wound the leader figures and that lends to frustration among players who have someone dead in their sights. |

Well, I have GASLIGHT, but most of my skirmish gaming seems to be Infinity these days. Not that you couldn't mod Infinity into a Steampunk game, but I haven't "re-skinned" the beast yet. Infinity's real downside is that it doesn't handle vehicles very well, and sometimes I think the best part of VSF/Pulp are the vehicles. IMO, skirmishing really stops once you get >20 troops and a vehicle per side. |

For full on skirmish, where I only have a dozen or so figures on a side, I use In Her Majesty's Name. For small battles, where there are 2-5 units of up to 10 each, I use GASLIGHT. For bigger battles, I'm not in the scope of what you are talking about. |
