I have been looking over some of Candido Lopez paintings from the War of the Triple Alliance(Lopez war) on the net and still I am impressed by the details he has in them.
I have a feeling that his paintings might be the most realistic icons of 19th century warfare we have at the tactical level. I wonder if there is a nice picture book available that collects them.
