OK this is a long shot, is it just me or would a few sets of Dixon acw spare heads be something people would want! I know I could find lots of uses for them, from converting to adding character to individual figures. I only mention this due to the individual appearence of Dixon heads and no other manufacturer's heads come close. OK its a unusual ask but hey you never know I may not be on my own on this one. |

OK spell checker caught me out, it should read seperate heads not desperate heads, Bill if you read this please feel free to amend the title |

"Desperate Heads" is rather catching though. =) |

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Dixon used too sell the separate heads -- indeed I think you used to specify which ones you wanted on your figures. Is this not so anymore? |

Desperate heads sound like a bad thing to google……. |

I thought the Perrys also sold seep rat heads to convert some of their plastic ranges. |

The problem would be that Dixon heads are somewhat large and would look too big for something like a Perry figure. They might work on an Old Glory second edition figure though, as a figure they seem somewhat chunkier. |

Jeff Ewing, I've never had any Dixon figures with seperate heads. You pick which type you want IE kepi or Hat and they come complete in one piece casting. 45thdiv, cavcrazy is spot on the Perry heads are way to small to fit in with Dixon minis. Dixon are pretty unique in that respect! The desperate heads is a error but it seems to have worked out in some respects, and no i really want to risk a search on Google! |

I found that some of the Dixon heads were absolutely huge and replaced some with Redoubt head packs |

'Desperate heads' is a remarkably accurate description of some of the Dixon figures, certainly the ACW range. Huge heads, very short legs, and over-creased clothing. Some of the ranges are better than others. |

Jedburgh the redoubt heads are a little lacking in detail compared to Dixon but it may be worth having a look! Dexter Ward, got to admit Dixon aren't to everyone's tastes but I am a fan of the pumpkin headed little fellas. They just have a character of thier own and certain amount of charm, everyone's different! its what what makes the world go round. |

I love Dixon figures. One of my first metal ACW purchases. Still have them and hundreds more. |

I too love Dixon figures, both my armies North and South are Dixon……but now that poem above has me really worried. Damn you Terrement, giving me nightmares of hundreds of blue and grey Pumpkin heads chasing me through the Rye. (that's where the catcher is).! |

It's nice to hear from other Dixon fans, I'm a fan and have being since they where first released! I reckon I must be close to about 1000 minis once they are all painted and based but that does include both the blue & grey. |

I have a ton of Dixons in my armies mainly because I came across a deal on them from a guy closing his doors for about .50 a piece. They are quite humorous – look more like they should be on a quest to the Lonely Mountain than on an ACW battlefield. |
