Very nice! I'm about halfway through my Austrian Army. It is mostly Sash & Saber but with a lot of other makers thrown in since S&S will never complete its line (sigh).

Very nice! Much nicer painting than mine (although to fair mine are 6mm)

Very pleasing to see these.

They look really good.

I'm finishing one of my Hungarian battalions today – Elite figures – and I decided to go for a basic paint job for this 48 figure unit.

Having seen yours I may have to do a little bit more dry-brushing and shading!

Cheers,

Paul

Those are great! And so numerous. The chap in the greatcoat; is he converted from a Frenchie?

That ain't no overcoat…look at his white sleeves.

I would not know an Austrian from a Hungarian, to be honest, but he is a pioneer, I would suspect. The tan is an apron.

In the armies that I am familiar with, he would have had an axe and a beard, maybe even a bearskin hat.

I'll leave that to the experts!

But I do know that painting white uniforms…that is not easy. Well done.

Cheers all!

And yes BigRedBat, deadhead is right as usual, chap with apron is an Austrian pioneer, he's one of the figures on the Perry Austrian command sprue.

Vey nice mate and a credit to you . Looks like you have picked the same unit as me for your first infantry unit, looking at the purple facings. Just finished my first unit as well . Started a Volunteer/landwehr unit for something a bit different before going back to do a second battalion.

Despite some negative comments about painting white in general , I have found them easy to do .

Just to add

As regards flags , I recommend the GMB type as he can offer some specific units like mine which is no 50. Just take care when ordering as the flags come in packs of 2 . I ended up ordering too many of the yellow type! :)
