hopefully less CGI this time round. I wonder how it will fit in with the 'canon' Star Wars universe given how many books have officially carried on the story?

I believe canon, yes, Expanded universe, no.

Lucas has recently said the only canon is the six movies, and the "The Clones Wars" animated movie and tv series.

Jj Abrams is building full sets of everything to minimize the CGI.

I'm such a dork. The Millennium Falcon showed up and I got goosebumps.

As far as I'm concerned the movies are 'canon', anything else is fanfic.

My heart filled with joy as I watched the X wings and Falcon do their stuff.

The new look storm troopers look very nice.

This gave me a good early trilogy vibe

A bunch of misfits vs. the empire.

Re: Canon. As the franchise is owned by Disney, canon is whatever they say it is. On that note, most if not all of the EU has been tossed.

I wish the three prequels weren't cannon! This one looks pretty good, and I have to admit that I also got a little excited when the x-wings and the Falcon appeared.

The lightsaber is actually a lightbroadsword. A much better design, it protects the hands everyone keeps losing.

The Falcon gets one during its topsy turnover. Not being shiny, the Falcon doesn't echo the flare.

Headzombie you are right on target. Given the worrying jedi hand removal problem I am shocked it took this long to invent. Personally I loved every bit of it including the lightsaber.

Also, the Falcon has a new dish (rectangular) and the new X-Wing fighters are closer to the Ralph Mcquarrie paintings!

The trouble with these 'teaser' trailers is; are the pictures accurate representations of what will be in the eventual film?
If its set in the future from episode 6, will the Imperial Stormtroopers look like in that episode, will there be X-Wings and Ties, or are they just messing with us!!!

Rule 1 of Jedi school – the lightsabre is not a toy, use it carefully. Or end up like Darth Nohands.

I'm not going to get upset about a lightsabre design – the robot on the beach ball has me 5% worried.

They've just confirmed the release date for Aussie cinemas. Locally vetted trailer (local MPratings people).

December 17 (as our release day is a thursday and there haven't been any exceptions to that, ever. Even Avatar opened a day early (compared to Northern hemi) for us.)
