As I've been saying for quite a while now it's time to close Garrison and sort of retire the ranges. I've closed the catalogue and will no longer be supporting the website or the email address info@garrisonminiatures.com. All future communications should be made to garrisonminiatures@gmail.com . There also a blog, easterngarrison.blogspot.co.uk Some qualifying past customers have arranged to be able to buy Garrison figures next year. It is hoped to start limited production for these customers sometime in March 2015. It is also probable that I will start some other limited production of the 20mm Ancients and 25mm S&S Ranges as well. For further information please keep looking at the Eastern Garrison blogspot. It is hoped that all current orders on my books will be completed and dispatched by around next weekend. Finally, thanks to all my customers over the past eight years or so – it's been fun. Rob |

Very sad, my very first metal figures were Garrison Greeks (I still have them, couldn't bear to part). Bought from Derek Sharman's Wargamers' Den, in Durham City, about 1973-74. All the best. Paul F |

Thanks Rob, for the pre-closure announcements. I was able to finish my last units in the Khmer army . I'll miss the dragon horses and the very well animated elephants. Don |

I have some of your 25mm ancient figures I purchased in the early 80's for my WRG Byzantine army. They still hold their own. I am sorry to see another of us "Oldtimers" reduce production, but that is the way it goes. I hope you can keep the Garrison Miniatures name alive for quite a few more years. Dave |

I'm sad to read this. I still have many 1980s Garrison Ancient Greeks and Medievals among my army collections. |

Damn shame. Whenever I get my 25mm Greek/Macedonian collections completed (been going for 25+ years) I would have hoped to collect Achaemenid Persians. Oh well. |

Did I read that correctly…that the Sword and Sorcery (ie. Hyborian) range may become available again? |

I'm still interested in Garrison, just can't kep it going the way it has. So I've phased it's passing to allow people to finish armies and have arranged for a few people to continue who are still building armies. However I'm still personally interested in and working on both the 20mm Ancients and 25mm S&S ranges. Hopefully, I'll still be producing new figures and moulds for my own use. Assuming I can keep things under control and perhaps only produce things when I've time I hope to continue some production of both these ranges for some of the time. I'll use the blog as a conduit for this. |

Sad, when I was into large figures (25+ mm) I always drooled over the possibilities… Do what is best for your situation. |

"Bought from Derek Sharman's Wargamers' Den, in Durham City, about 1973-74." That takes me back, did that too and bought Garrison. He sold Minifigs too. The shop in Newcastle sold Hinchcliffe. It all seems a lifetime ago. Whatever happened to the Wargamers Den? |

When I wrote a review in the Courier (late 1980's)of all the SYW figures, I thought the Garrison range was the most accurate of any available. |

One more thought – I have a unit of Garrison Extra Heavy Camels (EHCm) my Persian Army. Really quite invincible (albeit mythical) troops! I love those guys |

Just painted the persian bow and am painting the unarmoured camels I bought last year. Very nice and am very sad to see them go. |

Good luck for the future, hope the Star Warriors range sold a few. |

Thank you all for your kind words. I believe Derek moved to Scotland. Strangely, though I come from quite near Durham and also knew Derek from the Convention circuit I never visited his shop! The 25mm SciFi Range was basically a flop – had moulds made for some of the figures, got permission from Duncan to produce them (as the range had been sold to him years ago) and didn't really sell any! |
