I went to the video store a couple of days ago and grabbed some movies for the weekend, one of which was a post apoc flick entitled "The Black Rider: Revelation Road."

I watched it today and was surprised by the religious message/s in the movie. It was a combination of Mad Max (and the sequels), a Chuck Norris movie, and a some spiritualism like in the old Kung Fu TV series. It's no Book of Eli; more like Eli's second cousin on his mother's side.

The SHTF trigger, known as "The Event," was the Rapture.

Video store? They still have those?

I thought Netflix/Red Box killed them all.

Thanks for the heads up though, I'll have to see if I can find it.

They have 2 or 3 of those Revelation Road movies on Netflix. Or they at least did. They kept coming up in my post apoc searches. I ended up watching the first one just out of curiosity. It had Brian Bosworth as the head of the evil biker gang. Gang also included the wrestler Sting and a couple others if I remember right.

Tons of it. The Rapture industry is a big deal for certain brands of heretics (from my point of view). Family Guy had an episode on it as well. You could make some interesting wargaming scenarios with evil vs. good biker gangs, governments vs. UN (which the devil controls in the Rapture thing) vs. Good guys. Warbands with possesed etc.

It's probably already happened-would we notice 144,000 people (out of 7,000,000,000+) disappearing?

Funny, I though most Christians believed that the apocalypse was followed by the second coming ?

Was a time when the religious picketed cinemas showing 'satanist' horror films, not made them !!!

I'll given 'em a gold star and smiley face for trying but stick with Book of Eli.

The Book of Eli was really well executed as far as the content is concerned. And since it stars Denzel Washington, a pastor himself, it gets the ol' nod from the establishment as far as I'm concerned.
