Thanks David -- this is the combat support droid of the GOTA Clans. Armed with two heavy fusion guns, it can also mount a pistol-sized plasma gun on a boom, which can come in very handy to defend the droid when it is in a constricted environment and cannot swivel its turret to bring fire on a threat to its rear. (The boom is sometimes detached in open-field operations to save the strain on the droid's CPU, but a Prowler in Urban Ops is never seen without one.)

Here's an image showing it next to a 15mm infantryman from another of our ranges:

That's a cool little unit.

Ah, so is it available yet? (This is the old MDMS Drone, right?)

The store's closed, so no. grin

I love the idea of getting more little robot-things like this. Seems they can serve a ton of purposes in all manner of scifi games.

Ha fair enough… either way, I may have to start a trade mission with the GOTA clans then, I have a dire need for these bad boys! :)

I love it. Kind of cute, is an lethal sort of way. The wide-set chunky treads are great.

Is CPU still limiting in the future? I thought it was just my crappy laptop. Don't GOTA have positronic matrices or bioengineered head cheeses or something?

War Monkey28 Nov 2014 7:48 p.m. PST

Those are great!! I can see using them for a lot of things. :D

They have bioengineered head cheeses but those are in their MREs….

"Seems they can serve a ton of purposes in all manner of scifi games."

You need a variety of versions:
- Battery/power source for infantry.
- Mule to carry bags, gear, ammunition.
- Commo relay for satellite uplink for individual comms.
- GPS jammer for point defense.
- Laser dazzler for point defense.
- Navigation beacon.
- Anti-sniper system with electro-optics.

Actually tuscaloosa we have a light droid that's a bit bigger than this one that fulfills many of those functions -- available in legged, wheeled, tracked and grav versions. For instance, the mule, wheeled version:
