Are the old glory 15s accurate for 3rd century romans? They seem to cover a big timespan and they look quite different than my essex 3rd century romans.

The figures can be used for that time frame; Severan dynasty to Constantine.

My own collection was built for the Severan campaigns. Auxilia reflect both the older chainmail and helmet for the Western units, while the Eastern are clothed in tunic and cap.

The legions, you may want a similar distiction for certain units wearing older kit while newly raised units have more chainmail with helmet, with or without the crest.

You have a lot of options for a 3rd century Roman army.

Cheers,
Robert
