"Is it viable for the United States to impose a naval blockade against China in a potential conflict? That's a critical question in the study of China's maritime and energy strategies. China's crude oil dependence is obviously the key variable determining the success and failure of a blockade. Although China can produce many of its vital goods, such as grain and coal, in 2013 China imported 64.5% of its crude oil consumption. Oil-based liquid fuels, such as gasoline and diesel, are vital for vehicles. Blockades work both ways. What would the effect be on the West if the flow of goods from China ceased? What industries would be most affected? What effect would losing the raw materials China exports have? Who would lose most? |

What would the effect be on the West if the flow of goods from China ceased? The corps would have to open and or build new factories and we would get our good jobs back :) the people win :) the corps lose :) |

I agree, but like almost all things that deal with geo-politics and economics, with the current group of leaders stateside … It would be easier said than done … which seems to be trend on many things … |
