Well this means we can start talking about anything we like then. Waterloo Weekenders? Funny thing about a weekend in Waterloo. Be honest, it is not the most exciting place. The church is brilliant. The "Wellington Museum" is a fraction of what it could be, if only they knew what they had. Beyond that…it is long walk to the action…….. If I was spending a weekend I'd do the Hotel 1815 (but reviews tend to be mixed about the welcome) and walk even further afield. Snag is that she Who Must Be Obeyed likes central Brussels shopping and restaurants so………… |

I was expecting something about Territorial Army units at the battle. |

Only Reservists worth talking about are Maritime. It was a Royal Marine sniper who shot Napoleon dead at Waterloo … recorded history was a big cover up by the Army to deflect the glory of the Naval Service ;-) |

Doesn't the term "Waterloo Weekenders" refer to the French Army? After all, they arrived on Saturday, stayed most of Sunday, but had to leave unexpectedly early when the Prussians arrived with reservations. |

Mserafin – this was in the days before the invention of the beach towel. The Germans don't have this sort of problem any more….. |
