I painted this Commission Figurines' Potzdamer Platz MDF kit a while ago, before having to take a break from wargaming because of work. I've posted a rather long walkthrough of the process on my blog:

Although I painted it as a Stalingrad building for games of Rapid Fire!, I think the building and the painting methods could be used for any post-war or modern period, hence the crossposting. Here are the teasers…

That is simply fantastic and very inspiring – well done!

That is one of the best uses of an MDF model building I have ever seen.

And I've seen a few.

The decal work is very good and innovative. The recovery of the decal work is – frankly – even better – I would have never known that the mural wasn't intended to go on in bits with the joints hidden!

The detritus is great but toppest of top marks has to be the wallpaper. You were concerned that you couldn't find any soviet era wallpaper patterns? Seriously?

Sorry to sound a little gushing but you have done such a very good job that I'm really just very enthusiastic, which is prpbably coming across. And – generally speaking – the building isn't even a period I regulalrly play!

Great work sir: a big salute!
