Hi Last week Jonas from the Kampfgruppe Engel blog visit me here in Stockholm and we run some Lion Rampant games inspired by the Battle of Lindanär 1219, when the Danes got their flag Dannebrogen when it fall from the sky… Unfortunatly in our version it landed in a Sacred oak tree that was guarded by some mean and angry baltic pagans…in short all was set for a Crusade:) AAR 1 of game 1 you find at my blog AAR 2 and 3 of game 1 and 2 you find att Jonas blog. Best regards Michael

Tack så Dalauppror, :) This looks like plentiful fun, why do you think Lion Rampart are good rules? I am looking at buying them too, but just wanted to hear from others as to why they are better than other sets that play the same era, like SAGA. Skål |

Tack Zargon ! They are good rules sins I have been involved in the making of them;) no to be honest I think they are good because they are really easy to get a hold of, but still so many options for the generic troop types it´s fun to build hoasts, in my mind they are a scenario driven game, just line them up and kill each other of course work but to me that isn´t much fun. I would not use them for tournament play as they are so losely writen and several of the rules could be misstreated by uberplayers. The rules are very generic and hollywood style, and all your unit dosen´t get to act each turn or may be several turns if you are a unluckey leader, so if you don´t like that the rules are probably not for you. As they are generic you can use them for the Viking/Saga era to. The start up cost for the rules are low, the rules are only £12.00 GBP and if you go for plastic minis you get a good start hoast from a box and a ful hoast from 2 or 3 of them. A little bit about the rules and my wiev of them. If you decide to buy them I really hope you will have some good gaming. Mest regards Michael |

I belong to a lazy gaming group where I would have to learn the rule before I could get someone else to try them!Do you think they are solo friendly? |
