irregular QRF/ freikorps range Donnington link but the period might have you work a bit: no mess tins in ancient times nor rifles nor ammo boxes on the side… or no gladius on colonial mules unless you mean they have looted some ancient toomb the harder to convert would be mule borne artillery! |

Peter Pig makes some good stuff, as does Minifigs. IIRC, I have the Peter Pig pack camels and the Minifigs pack mules. |

Peter Pig also do some German pack horses in their WW2 early war German cavalry range. Good for both cavalry and Gebirgsjager.
