Many of us are interested in good source material for our modern miniatures wargames. One such source is the website Small Wars Council, and specifically their "Trigger Puller" section. There you will find lots of interesting debate on topics such as small unit organization, doctrine, gear, and weapons. While developing "Warfare in the Age of Madness" and its soon-to-be-released free expansion, "A Clear and Present Madness", we often referenced the wonderful information present in their forums. It proved quite valuable in testing various game results against the real-world combat experience often cited in their forums. link Hope you enjoy as much as we have! |

Here's one really good example from Trigger Puller: link PDF link They linked to the above PDF which describes urbanization in the Middle East. Great for developing scenarios, terrain, and rules for MOUT in that specific environment. The document includes detailed drawings of typical buildings such as mosques, how neighborhoods are laid out, and how homes are built. It's not just Anytown USA in the desert! |
