I did a post about my local gaming club, in brazil. link I'd like to hear about other gaming clubs, too. Tell me about yours!

Nice club space, very bright and airy. My 'club' is a loose association of friends some of whom drive for 2 hours to come and play! But those fellows have since developed gaming contacts closer to home. Now it's mostly a few friends within a 45 min drive. We meet in my basement once or twice a month and play on my 9'x6' table |

Our local group, The White Rock Gamers, meet every Thursday with 13 regular members. We mostly play Shako 2, Armati 2, Battles for Empire 2, Rapid Fire and Fire and Fury. We are fortunate to Have Chris Leach, Author of "Battles for Empire", and co-author of Shako 2 in out group. We put on large Napoleonic battle and some ancient ones as well. Usually on a Saturday. Here's a picture of our group plus some extra players for a gig game. Our group is in Burgundy club shirts with a couple in black black club shirts. Your truly is kneeling in the front row, glasses and beard. TMP link [URL=http://s219.photobucket.com/user/tjm3/media/Eylau%2028mm%20Napoleonic%20Battle%201807/IMG_7487.jpg.html]

Great to hear about the rented room, Mateus; speaking from experience, it takes a special group to keep something like that going. Of course, 'no alternative' is pretty special. ;->= I'm sort of best of both worlds, but, alas, too oft can't use either. On one side, I'm part owner of store that has about half the space dedicated to game tables. On the other, a group of friends united by a Yahoo! group for games that don't see much play at the store. One of the members lives about an hour away, occasionally playing here, occasionally inviting us to his place. As I'm a mostly house-bound care giver, outside of work, the others are getting almost as frustrated as I when I often can't join in. Doug |

Thanks for posting! I'm always happy to see that people in distant places are joined by our common interest. Our group, called Tactics-0 after that skill level in Traveller, has been meeting once a month for 15 years. That eventually led to starting an annual convention called CelestiCon, which has really blossomed over the last 6 years. |

Sort of the head rabbit for my gaming club(s). Napoleonic (25/28mm) gaming every 3rd Saturday of the month, ancients (28mm Clash of Empires) sometimes on the 1st weekend, and occasional gaming in the warren (napoleonics, ancients, WWI WOG aerial or 20mm FOW) on off weekends. The napoleonics groups has been playing since 1975… steady scenario gaming every third saturday of the month. Most likely the largest and longest running napoleonics group in the Los Angeles CA area. Typical gaming days have 6 to 12 players, average around 9 or 10 for napoleonics. Several group members have thousands of painted 25/28mm miniatures so miniatures never required to join in. New gamers to area always welcome. Battle of Sacile 1809 played in December 2014 by WR: link
Just contact the Wargamerabbit. His blog covers all aspects of the gaming events including the HMGS-PSW conventions. Michael aka WR Link to contact information: link |

Late to the party, but you've got a very nice club and club space there. I'm the semi-official organizer for "Chicago Skirmish Wargames". We've got about 10 total members with an average attendance around 4-6 and have been meeting for 5 years. A nice laid back crew who are as interested in the narrative and spectacle (we only use painted minis) as the rules. We meet every other Thursday, usually at member's homes in or very near to the city of Chicago. We game mostly generic 28mm fantasy and sci-fi skirmish games like Song of Blades, Open Combat, Tomorrow's War, etc. We also sometimes play larger games like Kings of War, 10mm sci-fi with a variety of rulesets and various others making appearances from time to time. We plan and keep in touch via our yahoo group which is open to any Chicago-area gamers. link and we chronicle the club and member's work on our blog: chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com |
