Anyone have information of the general release of figures and rules for War & Empire?

TiberiusAugustus23 Nov 2014 12:56 p.m. PST

Supposedly the first batch ships out to the first group of backers the first week of December. As for the rules I believe they are almost done but I'm not too sure on that. Ive only glanced at them.

As Tiberius said, the first batch of orders (numbers 1-64) should ship out the first week of December. Hopefully my order will be in the second batch a week later, I am hoping to receive it before Christmas.

The web store for backers will remain open until 5th January. I presume that it will then remain shut until all the orders from the backers have been despatched, then it should be opened to all.

The figures look excellent, and I believe that they will sell very well in their own right, whatever rules you use. Price-wise they are very competitive as well.

I have been told that they plan to introduce more armies in time, although I do not know if this will be done as a kickstarter, or on an ad-hoc basis.

I'm number 90 I hope that puts me in group two as well. Very excited to get my stuff. I am particularly excited for the buildings I ordered.

Im order #300 something. I was waiting on pictures of the caesarian romans which look great. I'm pretty sure only backers can access the web store.

Yeah, still trying to work out what I want. Westwind have done such a great job on the sculpts there's too much nice and shiny I can't work out what to get.

HANS GRUBER26 Nov 2014 9:47 a.m. PST

It being such a large project one would think Westwind would have some (major) announcement about a general release.

Not a 15mm man but looking at the website it is great to see so many extras that another company would leave to other manufacturers all under one roof.

I'm order 295. The reason it took so long for our group to order was the sheer number of choices we had to sift through. I finally settled on the Numidian army myself, mainly because I think he has sculpted the nicest Numidian cavalry I've ever seen in 15mm, even better than Corvus Belli. It was also a nice touch that I could order LBM shield transfers customized to fit the models.

I wonder how many orders will actually be filled per week?

I am order 289 and just got the message today that my figures are shipping out. Really looking forward to my Romans, Carthaginians and Pyrrhic armies. The couple of thousand figures is going to replace all the blocks in my C&C:Ancients Epic games from here on out.
