I saw it recently on cable. Surprise surprise, I loved it. Not because the downtrodden stuck it to the elites (that is so normal in films it was just a yawn to me), but because of the awesomely reasonable tech. Bad guy had a single use energy shield powered by a combustible chemical energy pack. Basically he triggered it and while the pack burned the electromagnetic bubble was up. Loved the deployable combat robot. Holy Crap. That is Tomorrow's War right there. Loved the proximity fused frag rounds fired by the modified AK used by the hero. The slow motion of each shot degrading the target defenses was worth the price of admission. The exoskeleton rig was great (done even better in edge of tomorrow but that's nit picking). The VTOL carrying the Mercs was smokin'. |

Agreed with all except the VTOL – I mean it was fine for skipping about in the atmosphere, but… Was just too implausible it could sustain burning fuel in a search for so long and then have the reserves to go extra-atmosphere out to the station with only a decision to do so. Let along being actually capable of spaceflight. |

Now you've got me wanting to watch it again. I enjoyed it as well. |

Maybe good for a skirmish game, but hardly a war. I did enjoy the movie watched it twice. The edge of tomorrow was very interesting as a potential wargame, if you can get some figures to be those mimics. |

Mimics were different in the book if I remember right. |

I liked it. Heavy handed social commentary (not entirely inaccurate or undeserved, mind you)… but I liked the film. Chalfant |

I liked it as a Cyberpunk RPG scenario |

Heavy handed social commentary At least it was better than Avatar, in that respect. |

I enjoyed it as well – not as much as district 9 though. |
